Energy Fields and Intuitive Healing
Resonating with the intelligence of your energy field
Last weekend, I joined an Intuitive Healing and Energy Fields workshop led by Jenny from New Forest Nature and Nurture, held at Four Acre Farm near Ringwood. It was an eye-opening experience that helped me understand what it really means to connect with my energy, listen to my body, and support others from a place of calm and strength.
This post is a simple guide to what I learned, in case you're curious about energy work, intuition, or just want to come back to your centre.
What Is Energy Healing?
Energy healing is not about fixing others, but healing yourself first. To heal, we first must become aware of your own energy field.
Jenny explained that we can’t work with the energy of others until we’ve taken responsibility for our own. If we’re anxious, tired, or distracted, that energy gets passed on. But if we come from a grounded, neutral place, then our energy becomes safe and supportive for others.
So before helping anyone else, we learn to centre ourselves.
What Does “Neutral” Feel Like?
Neutrality doesn’t mean being numb or passive. It means being in the moment, present in your body, and not pulled by strong emotions or thoughts. When you’re in this state, you can sense your own truth more clearly, and you’re less likely to take on other people’s energy.
Simple ways to find your neutral space:
Walks in nature
Singing or dancing
Gardening or creative hobbies
Sitting quietly with a candle or warm bath
The key is to do things that bring you peace and make you feel fully present in your body.
When you arrive in a place of calm by doing any of the above - then check in with yourself and ask all energies to kindly leave your energy field. This includes any spirit guides and guardian angels. This is a temporary measure to figure out what your neutral stance is.
Your Body Knows
Jenny taught us how to tune into the wisdom of our body. Here are a few exercises we practised:
✋ Energy Ball
Rub your hands together and slowly pull them apart — feel the energy between them. That’s your energy field. If you need a specific area of your body healed, divert this energy to it.
👁️ Body Scan
Use your hands to scan your body slowly, from head to toe. Notice any cold spots, warm spots, tingling, or tension. These are messages from your body. Sometimes you can feel pressure from the body or dips. Sometimes you may feel like there is a thought pop into your head, be open to it. Don’t reject it off hand. Healing is an intuitive art.
❓ Yes/No Check-in
Ask your body a simple question like, “Is this good for me?” Then pause. A “yes” might feel like relaxation or stillness. A “no” might feel like tightness or discomfort. This is a great tool for everyday decisions — even small things like what to eat or wear.
Energy Tools: Helpful, But Not Everything
Pendulums, dowsing rods, and oracle cards are tools that can help validate your intuition — but they are not the source of truth. Jenny reminded us that our body is the best tool we have.
Before using a tool, always check in with your body:
How does this feel in my system?
Am I getting a yes or no?
Is this tool confirming what I already sense?
Don’t give your power away to tools. Let them support you, not lead you.
Protecting Your Energy Field
In the second part of the session, we learned how to protect and clear our energy. Jenny taught us simple techniques to keep our field strong:
Tree visualisation (ground your energy deep into the earth)
Protective cloak or bubble (imagine surrounding yourself with white light)
Dry bathing (sweep your hands across your body to clear stuck energy)
Calling your energy back (especially before sleep — don’t take others’ energy into your dreams)
All of these practices help you come back to your own space, especially after being around others.
Working with Others
When doing any healing or support work for someone else, Jenny reminded us to always ask for permission. This includes asking the person and asking their energy field. If you call on spirit guides or helpers, ask:
Are you here for my highest good?
Are you here for their highest good?
Are you here for the highest good of all?
And once you’re done, gently ask them to step out. Then return to your own energy field.
Why This Matters
If you’re a sensitive person, a therapist, a carer, a parent, or just someone who feels deeply — these practices are life-changing. Jenny's workshop helped me understand that our body is always giving us signals. The more we practise tuning in, the more easily we can stay centred and support others in a healthy way.
She said something that really resonated with me:
“We are human beings having a spiritual experience — and spirit having a human experience.”
Always remember that the healer is you, not the person who is facilitating the healing. They are here to help you heal yourself. So stay open to healing, don’t give your power away.
Practice
We went on to practice energy healing and feeling the energy of each other. I have attached a photo below of the session with the healer and Kate, who co-runs Four Acre Farm.
Jenny also offers guided walks around the new forest and you can sign up for memberships.
